#Register

~green offers email for all shell users, you do not need to register for an additional service

#Use

• on the shell you can run alpine, mail, mutt
• webmail is at https://mail.tilde.green, Username is username (no domain), password is the shell password
• IMAP access works with the autoconfig settings determined by the client, e.g. when using Thunderbird
• Nextcloud works by using autodetect settings as well

Manual config parameters are:

Incoming:

• Servername: imap.tilde.green
• Port: 993
• Username: username
• Conenction security: SSL/TLS
• Authentication method: Normal password

Outgoing:

• Servername: smtp.tilde.green
• Port: 465
• Username: username
• Connection security: SSL/TLS
• Authentication method: Normal password

you can also use STARTTLS with the default ports if you prefer (143, 587)

The only case in which you might need to put the domain is if you're using a mail account provided via postfixadmin, when you bring your own domain into tilde.green's mail system, the process of how to do so, requires contacting jmjl to get DNS records set up in place, and an account registered.
